Say Yes will be offering six days of courses by Greg and Laura Derrett at Say Yes Dog Training from October 7 - 12, 2008.
Some of the recent highlights of Greg's long running, prestigious background:Greg
Derrett was Great Britain's "Handler of the Year" for 1999 and
2000. His older Border Collie, "Jay", has won every major tournament
in Great Britain at least once, and most of them twice. Jay boasts two
first places and two second places at Olympia.
Jay was Great Britain's "Dog of the Year" in both 1999 and 2000.
Greg's younger Border Collie, "Fern", placed 3rd as "Dog
of the Year" in 1999 and 2nd in 2000 behind Jay.
Fern has to date won 5 major tournaments and was the youngest ever dog
to win into Advanced classes in England which is the highest level. Greg's
students won Great Britain's "Club of the Year" in both 1999
and 2000. Complimenting Greg's admirable training abilities, Greg recently
completed an MSc course in Animal Behavior. Greg is becoming wildly popular
as a seminar presenter and has traveled to Japan in addition to Canada
and the United States. In 2001, Greg and Fern were members of Great Britain's World Cup team
for this special first time ever that England will be represented
at the World Cup. We are excited to also welcome Laura Derrett. In 1998 Laura became involved in agility, and she began her own agility center, CDogsFly Agility in Turlock California. Not only has Laura competed in the top levels in the United States with her dogs Fly, Fish and her golden Josie, in March 2007 Laura competed in England at Crufts with Fish in the singles event. This event is for the top 16 dogs in GB from 2006.
